Продолжаю мечтать о карамельном красно-белом рождественском леденце и маршмеллоу
Хочу ванильное облако в кружке с горячим какао

1/2 Cup Margarine
1/4 Cup white sugar
1/4 Cup Confectioners' Sugar
1/2 An Egg
1/2 Tsp vanilla extract
1/4 Tsp peppermint extract
1/4 Tsp salt
1 Cup all-purpose flour
1/4 Tsp Red food coloring
1/4 Cup White Sugar (for decoration)
In a big bowl, cream together the margaine, confectioners sugar and one of your 1/4 cups of white sugar (keep your other 1/4 cup of white sugar for decoration).
Beat in the egg, peppermint extract and vanilla extract.
Mix the flour, and salt and stir into the creamed mixture until everything is really well mixed.
Cover up the dough and place it in the fridge to cool off for at least an hour.
Once your dough is cool, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Take out your cookie sheets and spray them so the dough doesn't stick to the pans.
Divide your dough into two even groups.
Add red food coloring to one of your halves of dough (so you have 50 percent red and 50 percent regular dough color).
Roll a small amount of each dough into a 2-inch worm. Roll them together, twisting the colors and them curve one end so it looks like a candy cane.
Place each of your dough candy canes onto your greased cookie sheet.
Place your cookie sheet in the oven (once it's preheated to 375 degrees F) and bake for approximately 10 minutes or until they appear to be cooked fully through.
Once the cookies are fully cooked, place them in your 1/4 cup of white sugar for decoration. The sugar should stick nicely to the outside of your cookies giving them a frosted look.
м... думаю, не стоит... мятный бальзам лучше тогда, скорее всего. Но, мне кажется, идеальный вариант, если на зиму листочки перечной мяты собирала, залить ее водкой, дать постоять неделю или около того, и использовать это

cream of tartar?)) может быть, это разрыхлитель? пекарский порошок?
« It turns out that cream of tartar also goes by the lesser-known names of potassium bitartrate and potassium hydrogen tartrate (or KC4H5O6, if you're into formulas), an acidic salt. Grapes naturally produce tartaric acid and the cream of tartar is the byproduct of winemaking--basically the sediment leftover in wine barrels.
Most people use cream of tartar as a stabilizer when whipping egg whites into meringue. The cream of tartar reacts with the egg proteins and helps to shape and add that luscious volume to the topping on your lemon meringue pie. Rumor has it that you can also add a tiny amount of cream of tartar to boiled vegetables to keep their colors bright. On another note altogether, it can also serve as a mild abrasive when cleaning up your pots and pans. It's a multi-use kitchen ingredient.
Yet the big discovery for me was that cream of tartar is one of the main active ingredients in baking powder, along with cornstarch and baking soda. Its magical ability to form create air bubbles while baking is probably what helped to give rise to my tender and light biscuits. »
